Structural calculations for steel and timber.

I’m Florin Dumbrava, a structural engineer based in Brașov, Romania. I help builders, designers and manufacturers turn an idea into a structure that is safe, efficient and clearly documented.

How I work

I like calculations that can be followed. Every report I write starts from a clear model, ties each check to the Eurocode clause behind it, and ends with results a checking engineer can verify without guessing. If something in the design can be simpler or lighter, I will tell you.

What I work on

Modular and tiny timber houses, climbing walls and their supporting structures, steel frames and one-off structures. I also teach: courses on steel and timber design, stability and finite element analysis, for engineers and students.

A bit about me

I hold a PhD in structural engineering and have spent more than 14 years designing steel structures and working with advanced numerical analysis. I enjoy the moment a complicated problem becomes a clear, simple answer, and I try to bring that to every project.
